I shall be posting a musical lyrics quiz later on but I realised I hadn't given the answers to last week's 80's lyrics quiz. My bad!

There were 3 songs not guessed:-

1. I want to watch Rembrandt sketch/I want to talk theory with Curie/Impossible I guess

Donna Summer "Dinner With Gershwin"

5. Can't complain, Mustn't grumble/help yourself to another piece of apple crumble

ABC, "That Was Then, But This Is Now"

6. Hi darlin', the kids say they love you/Hey baby, is everything fine with you?/Please forgive me, but I'm trying not to cry...

The Rah Band, "Clouds Across The Moon"

And these were the 3 I thought people might not get, so no great surprise. ABC's lyric I think once got voted as one of the worst of the 80's, which is saying something :D

Wow, you all did pretty darn well at the musicals lyrics quiz. All were answered except for No 9 and 'm not entirely surprised, because these lines were redacted from the show some while ago, to avoid giving offence to, umm, anybody at all, presumably. Certainly they're not present in the movie but you can hear them on the original soundtrack recordings. So the answer was:-

9: "And the Money Kept Rolling In (and Out)", Evita, sung by Che and chorus.

And the winner, with 10 points, is [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus. Lyric quiz bragging rights are yours, at least for a day :D

So now I throw down the gauntlet again and challenge you to guess lyrics from '80's hits!

(Yes, still very, very bored at work, why do you ask?)

1. I want to watch Rembrandt sketch/I want to talk theory with Curie/Impossible I guess

2. I reached inside myself today/Thinking there's got to be some way/To keep my troubles distant - [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

3. I'm tired of dancing here all by myself/Tonight I wanna dance with someone else - [livejournal.com profile] jenni411

4. My head is stuck on something precious/Let me know if you're coming down to land - [livejournal.com profile] annuala

5. Can't complain, Mustn't grumble/help yourself to another piece of apple crumble

6. Hi darlin', the kids say they love you/Hey baby, is everything fine with you?/Please forgive me, but I'm trying not to cry...

7. The blonde waitresses take their trays/They spin around and they cross the floor/They've got the moves (oh whey oh)/You drop your drink then they bring you more - [livejournal.com profile] jenni411

8. Don't wish too hard/Because they may come true/And you can't help them/
You don't know what you might/Have set upon yourself
- [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

9. I'm on a journey for the inspiration/To anywhere and there ain't no salvation - [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

10. Eight to Ten years after coming home almost eight hundred thousand men/
Are still fighting the Vietnam War
- [livejournal.com profile] commoncomitatus

Because I just haven't spammed LJ enough today....

I've had a few songs rattling around my skull lately, at least one of which was entirely the fault of [livejournal.com profile] kelemvor and his pesky lyrics quiz, so I am attempting revenge. Plus hopefully getting a few song lyrics outta my head.

10 songs for yoooou! Although as I can't get email comments atm, don't look for a response until later tomorrow ;)

1) Finally baby / The truth has been told / Now you tell me that I'm crazy / That's nothing that I didn't know - "I Don't Want To Know" - Fleetwood Mac. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kelemvor

2) Something deep inside / Said move away / Try to leave what's good behind

3) Where'd you get that accent son / it matches your cowboy boots

4) Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture / And save it from the funny tricks of time "Slipping Through My Fingers" - Abba. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] kelemvor

5) Who I was meant to be / A snob yet over-attentive "Take Me or Leave Me" - Rent. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] adelpha

6) Never stay too long in your bed / Never lose your heart, use your head

7) You said that you'd love me / And that you always will /

8) Love, I'm a cynical bitch / Gonna scratch that itch / With a bitch like you "A Place To Crash" - Robbie Williams. Guessed by [livejournal.com profile] itsjustaname
