There's a US sports columnist I read regularly, a guy named Bill Simmons. He's pretty funny most of the time and talks a fair bit of common sense about US sports which is refreshing. Today he hosted a marathon web chat in aid of the V Foundation....and I managed to get a question answered! Hee!
Lesley (London, UK): This is a great chat Bill. I lost both my parents to cancer and so anything that raises money to prevent that happening to others is great by me. Question - if you were the Mets owner, what would you do to prevent a repeat of last September?
He wanted to chat for 6 hours and 37 minutes to break the ESPN record and he's managed it. Hopefully lots of money will be raised for an always excellent cause. Oh and to put getting a question printed in perspective, he received 91,000 questions during the chat o_0

Bill Simmons: (6:36 PM ET )Thanks Lesley. As for your question, I would find a way to get Santana and do whatever it took. He'd be a fantastic Met and would be unstoppable in the weaker NL - we'd be looking at Gooden's '85 season all over again (with less IP) and the Mets have had good luck with the name "Santana"
