Wasn't feeling myself at all yesterday. Had a lousy night's sleep, the sort where you wake up every hour and, occasionally, every 10 minutes. And I was too cold and then too hot and just generally Not Happy. Also, I was off my feed which is never a good sign.

So I hibernated in between watching the rugby and that helped. So did watching England eventually beat Italy - I even managed a rusty croak or two of "Oh tackle him you effing prawns!" And I happily curled up and watched The Professionals DVDs I got for my birthday - perfect :D I'd forgotten how quotable that show was, I've been baffling my US friends by posting quotes on Facebook :D

Feel much better today but then I had 7 uninterrupted hours sleep. It's amazing how that helps a mousey :D

I shall watch sport on TV and more DVDs today, methinkest, just to make sure I'm fit and well for work (bah!) tomorrow.

Why is Leverage S1 not out until July 14th? *whiiiines* Want it, precious, waaaaant it!

On the plus side, Burn Notice S2 is already out and ordered and winging its way to an impatient mousey :)

Now, if you'll excuse me, this tennis isn't going to watch itself :D

..I think my postman is going to hate me. I've added up all the parcels I'm due to get after my two amazon sprees and if they don't put two items in the same parcel, I'm due 15 packages through the door over the next 10 days....*winces*.

The first 3 have arrived! Say hello to The West Wing Season 7, ST:Voyager Season 5 and Criminal Minds Season 3 :D Obviously I can't watch TWW until seasons 5 and 6 show up.

Gleeeeeeeeeee!!

We had a fantastic storm today, black clouds, great streaks of lightning and big rumbling thunder. And it happened during my lunch break, when I am wont to scamper down to sit in the car with my soup and my music, so I was able to watch and hear it all (and the car was under cover so I didn't have to get wet!) Blissful. We so rarely get good thunderstorms and I love 'em so.

Work is...stressful but then it's that time of year. Give it a couple of weeks and it'll all calm down again :) Remember I said they had a small collection for me and got me some vouchers to spend? Used them tonight to get two DVDs - Enchanted and Ocean's 13. There will be happy Mitchy squeakings this weekend, with those and new episodes of Numb3rs and BSG to watch *purrs in anticipation*

Oh and I got my official letter from work notifying me I'd been taken on full time. Only a week after I was actually taken on full time, too, prolly a record for a government department :D

Only downer is I had to cancel a trip out tomorrow with [livejournal.com profile] thalinoviel because I was badly distracted when we made the arrangements and I'd completely forgotten that I'm salary-less now until the end of the month. Durr, I r so smart! Sorry, Janey! *sends hugs*

Had a small shopping accident last weekend, when I found a sale dvd.co.uk was having. It so happened I was looking for a particular DVD and it was part of a "3 for £13" offer so I was quite happy to buy another 2 to round out the order.

Just opened the parcel today and it made me smile. This is so typical of me...

Starts off well - first dvd is "Much Ado About Nothing", the Branagh/Thompson production from 1993.

Then the tone drops a couple of notches with the "Fantastic Four" double disc edition. But hey! You need something mindless after Shakespeare, right?

And then you get to "The Complete Mr Benn".

First, my MacGyver S4 DVD boxset arrives! Yay!! (Look, I was weak, I'd watched all of S3, there was withdrawal...need I say more?)

THEN my Starsky and Hutch S1 box set arrives! Yay!! (Dirt cheap, on amazon, under a tenner, including delivery. She says, defensively)

AND THEN!! *extra squee* my signed hardcover copy of Diane Duane's "Spock's World" arrives! *dances in glee* (Look, it was a signed DD and I bought it ages ago, hush).

Budget? What budget?

OK, OK, I'll be good now. Promise.

Waaah! I'm in total denial that I have to go to work tomorrow. But I suppose I must. But again I say, Waaaaah!

New Year's Resolution - win the lottery ;)

New Year was seen in, in usual Mitchy fashion, with cider, pizza and DVDs. Oh and obviously I tuned into the dear ol' Beeb to hear Big Ben chime in 2006. I was deeply impressed with the firework display on the Thames. Looks like they finally realised that the London Eye is the biggest Catherine Wheel in the world and duly turned it into one for 10 minutes :) It was good being online too, I got to say Happy New Year to lots of people I consider close friends, so that was good.

Yesterday and today have been spent in the usual bone idleness, while I try and whittle down my "DVDs To Be Watched" pile. Last night I watched "Flash Gordon" (hee! "I love you, Flash, but we only have 14 hours left to save the Earth!") and Tomb Raider ("I woke up this morning and just hated everything"). Today it was "The Bourne Supremecy" plus something I haven't decided yet. *eyes time* Gotta get to bed by midnight at the latest so I'll have to pick something reasonably short. Which rules out Zulu. Maybe I'll watch Sideways. Or maybe I'll watch something tacky. I'll see. (Memo to self: Self, you need to buy a bigger bookcase for the DVDs, the small one is a teensy eensy bit overflowing....)

Also watched football today - Leeds beat Plymouth 3-0, thus maintaining 100 per cent record over the Christmas break. Bwahahahah! We might just be in with a shout of promotion this year, though almost certainly via the playoffs. Still, I'll take what we can get.

And now for more tea and denial for a few more hours :)
