I was up early this morning especially so I could scamper down to the surgery to see my GP. I wasn't sure I needed to because she's signed me off but there are a couple of things I could ask her about while I was there so I figured, why not? Besides, I needed to drop off a repeat prescription. Got there, having been delayed by the need to scrape ice off my car *brrr*, to see the queue for the surgery was out the door. Gnnng. So I waited patiently to get to the counter and.....it turns out she isn't in all this week. *sighs* She has the wackiest schedule, she's never bloody there! Oh well, at least I dropped off my prescription, I can pick up asthma inhaler goodness tomorrow or Saturday morning.

*yawns* Meh. *kicks preferred bittorrent source* Give! Me! My! Cold! Case! Dammit! Why is it every other show I watch is always ready for download by 8am but the one show I am always jumping up and down for never surfaces until god knows when? It's a conspiracy, I tells ya!

Ah enough with the whining, I've got a mug of tea, a lovely hot pastry from my favourite bakery and an episode of The Unit to watch. Somehow I think I'll survive :)

How is everyone else this cold, frosty Monday? Hope you're all ok!

...sorry, currently working people, sucks to be you. If it makes you feel any better, come December I'll prolly be back at the salt mines :P

I went down to the Doctor's surgery today, to read the report that's been requested by Occupational Health. I suggested one change - my consultant and the stoma nurses plus some literature I've read suggested the recovery time is 10 weeks. My stoma nurse suggested 10-12. My doc has put 8 weeks, which is how long it will be this week since the op. However, that's for straightforward ops, planned in advance, and not emergency ops on Poorly Mitchy's, which have complications after the fact. If we take it from when I was well enough to go home, then yeh, beginning of December is a much more likely scenario. Anyway, I have to see the doc this week and will debate it with her then, but Foghorn's already agreed that if the Doc won't sign me off, I can take the two weeks hol I should have had in September and use it for the last two weeks of this month. Works fine for me - I'll hopefully be going down to Cornwall during that period so it qualifies as a holiday anyway :D

I also booked my flu jab - a bit late this year but then I was pre-occupied with other issues :P There was a cancellation so I'm getting it done Thursday. Excellent :)

Caught up on Cold Case and The Unit today. CC was good, although not as good as it could have been: been chatting with another fan and we can't quite put our fingers on why but we both agree something was missing. Still, decent enough ep. Just watched The Unit and have managed to stop snarling - I HATE two parters! Stupid cliff hangers! Bah! I shall make myself soothing, soothing tea and look forward to Spooks in an hour instead :) Mind you, there's a show that could teach US shows a thing or two about teeth-ginding, viewer-snarling cliff-hangers.

Talking of TV shows, I've been happily wading through John Roger's blog. Who he, I don't hear you cry? Well he's the showrunner (i.e executive producer) for Leverage and he writes a damn fine blog. [livejournal.com profile] tyrell, you'd love him, he does some great political rants too! I've got as far as mid-2006, although I have read all the entries in 2008 for Leverage gossip and behind the scenes stuff. If you're a TV addict like me, it's a fascinating look into how shows get written and made. Go check it out here.
