There are two things that really ticked me off. One: Nobody, anywhere, at no point, got to beat the snot out of Rita Skeeter. I was dying to see her get her comeuppance and for somebody to shove that quill where the sun didn't shine.

Likewise, Harry doesn't get to give Draco the kicking Draco so richly deserved. Bah! *sulks* (Although I think Ron gets to punch him once, not sure about that bit).

I'm not discussing Tonk/Lupin yet, that'll be a separate rant in a longer review, amongst all the good things :)

I am not reading HP but my son and daughter are so I feel like I am. What I am gathering: very sad, and the content is more adultish than for children.

I didn't find it overwhelmingly sad, it's uplifting at the end. But yes, it's not a light read and it's aimed at the "kids" who've grown up with the book, most of whom will be in their teens now.

*has - literally - just finished the book* Yeah, know what you mean... But how exactly could they have done it? Have a couple of the kids going off at the end with their owls, wands, school equipment, and a skull each, one marked 'R.S.' and the other marked 'D.U.'? ;)
