Scribblings from the Mitchy Side

OK, that's the first really 'orrible office job I've been avoiding finally crossed off the list today. Every school has a cradle file which contains a number of coloured folders for various topics (Banking, general, VAT etc). Our VAT folders are being moved at some point as the work is being taken over by another department. However, we have reached the point where there are several rows where it is no longer possible to actually get any more paperwork into a folder and then successfully return the folder to the cradle. Hell, you called it a victory if you manage to get the folder out! So thinning of the VAT files was necessary as we only need to keep 3 years worth of paperwork.

We have 538 schools..... 538 green folders have now been wrestled with and out of date paperwork binned. 9 and a half bags of secure waste later and we can at last use our 3 filing cabinets again.

Urgh! I ache!

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate filing? :P Well at least it's going to be a hell of a lot easier now.

My back and feet aren't thanking me though. Hah. Just wait until I start the heavy duty archiving! On second thoughts, let's not go there *shudders*

There was an unplanned nap earlier after I made the mistake of stretching out on the bed to try and ease the kinks in my shoulders. There may even have been snoring. :) And since then, there has been food (southern fried chicken steak with oodles of salad) and, because I deserve it dammit, there will shortly be chocolate button mousse for dessert. Oh yes!
