We didn't make it to Bath.
*sighs*
What we did get was 2 and a half hours in a solid traffic jam on the A1(M) with no option to bail out and find another route until the outside lane traffic finally cleared and I could haul the car out of the standstill that was the inside lane (queuing for the M25 junction) and head south to where I could turn round and go back North.
I was not a happy mousey.

jenni411 and I decided that we just couldn't face another 2 hours in the car driving to Bath, especially as we were hearing on the radio the M25 was slow anti-clockwise. So we bailed. We've lost the hotel room but it was half the cost of what I'd have used in petrol to get there, plus parking fees, so eh, what the hell.
Instead we spent a very happy afternoon pottering around the Veralamium museum, Roman Theatre and bath house mosaic in St Albans :) Much more fun!
And nowjenni411 is baking apple and walnut cake. Life is good again!
